Thursday 30th of September saw the final of the Spartan’s Trophy played out at Formby Lawn Tennis Club.
The Final was to be played between Formby 1s & Formby 3s in what was predicted to be a rain-soaked affair. Fortunately, the weather was on our side and it ended up being near perfect playing conditions. Formby 1s team played off a challenging -30 handicap which proved to be an astoundingly accurate leveler for the match.
The match concluded 4 sets all, with the tie being decided on games. This meant the 1st team won by 2 games, a remarkably close outcome.
After the matches, we enjoyed a small celebratory social between both teams to cap the victory for Formby.
