Code of Conduct for Southport & District Tennis League
Tennis players are expected to
- Play by the rules of the game and the rules of the league
- Behave in a way that avoids bringing the game of tennis into disrepute
- Respect opponents and always shake hands at the end of a match
- Raise any issues with their team captain at the time
- Use their best efforts in a match
- Refrain from the use of audible and visual obscenity
- Refrain from racquet/ball abuse
- Never use intimidating, unfair or bullying tactics to gain advantage on or off
the court - Win with grace, lose with dignity
Home Teams are expected to:
- Ensure a warm welcome for visiting team and spectators
- Provide refreshments in between and after completion of matches
Spectators are expected to:
- Be on their best behaviour and lead by example
- Applaud good play by visiting players as well as their own
- Refrain from coaching, taunting or heckling when players are on court
- Show respect for the opponent(s) of the player(s) and team that they are
supporting
